Hello, my name is Esmeralda Alvarado I am 20 years old and I am a sociology major. This is my third year at East Bay, I grew up in Castro Valley and still live there. I have worked at Nordstrom for about a year now, and work there during school but just part time. Whenever I am not working or at school I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and also working out. Exercising helps relieve a lot of my stress and is something that is important to me. I love to eat, I eat pretty much everything and always want to try new things. But my favorite classic meal would have to be Mac and cheese, I have always loved eating that and never get tired of it.

I chose this class because I though it would be interesting to learn about something that I have never really studied. Even though I am not wanting to pursue a career in the medical field I still think it is important to understand different types of things that can be done with your major. I hope to learn more about medical sociology and be able to understand it better.
